The Woodhouse Stables Difference

What makes our buildings so different…???

Quite simply, it’s the quality of materials we use in every building, from our Field Shelters right up to our large Stable complexes.

We believe you and your horse should enjoy the highest quality stabling at an unrivalled price.

While many companies have to cut corners, our constant investment in the latest manufacturing equipment and timber buying power enables us to make cost savings, allowing us to produce the highest quality stables at the lowest possible prices.

Below are just some of the high-quality components that go into making Woodhouse Stables buildings not only attractive but also extremely durable.

Genuine  Roofing Sheets

Unlike many manufacturers, we only use Genuine Onduline on our roofs.

Through experience, we have come to only trust Genuine Onduline roofing sheets to stand up to the British weather and not ‘sag’ over time.

They are backed by a manufacturer’s 15-YEAR WATERPROOF GUARANTEE.

Pressure Treated CLS Framing

The main frame is the key component to the strength of the Building. We manufacture our frames out of pressure-treated, strength-grade CLS, which has a smooth finish with rounded corners.

Strength graded timber to specifications laid down in British Standards – BS4978 for visual grading and BS EN 519 for machine grading. Timber is graded to strength classes.

Timber is loaded into a treatment vessel and an initial vacuum
applied, which evacuates the timber cells of air. The cylinder is flooded under vacuum with TANALITH E wood preservative. Hydraulic pressure is applied, which forces the preservative deep into the structure of the timber. A final vacuum extracts the excess preservative solution, which is pumped back to storage.

Pressure-treated timber is protected against fungal (rot) and insect attacks to ensure a long service life.

We make sure all our CLS is sourced from forests within the FSC scheme.

Pressure Treated Scandinavian Redwood Ship Lap Cladding

The quality of the outer cladding of the building is key to the aesthetics of the overall project.
That’s why we supply quality Scandinavian* Redwood cladding as standard throughout all our ranges.

Scandinavian Redwood (pinus sylvestrus)

Unmatched for its beauty, Redwood is naturally resistant to weathering, cupping, and insect damage. Redwood timber is a more durable, slower-growing, and stable wood than whitewood. It has excellent strength and does not warp or shrink like other timber species. Redwood has a beautiful straight grain, consists of an open-celled structure, and contains little or no pitch or resins.

The only disadvantage of Redwood timber is that it is expensive. However,, to make a quality long lasting outdoor structure, quality timber is required in its construction. Outdoor structures made with Redwood timbers retain their appearance ten, fifteen and twenty years after construction. Redwood has many advantages over other types of timber and is often used in the interior of homes and restaurants because of its natural beauty

Naturally untreated Redwood has an in-grown resistance to wood decay and insect infestation. To ensure that our Redwood timber products remain looking perfect for many years to come, all timbers are protected from wood decay, attack by wood boring insects and fungal infestation. All the Redwood timbers are pressure-treated with Tanalith E wood preservative. Tanalith E is applied in sealed vacuum vessels, which forces the preservative deep into the structure of the wood. Tanalith E has proven to be the most effective wood treatment preservative available in the UK today

We make sure all our Redwood is sourced from forests within the FSC scheme
